Here's the scoop...

Megan Parlen News
updated March 26, 2006.

In this column I'll include any breaking news on my favorite star.

Finally, some news to report about Megan.

March 27, 2006.

It has been brought to my attention that Megan is listed as the associate producer for the documentary film "This Film Is Not Yet Rated."

Here is the film's official website.

http://www.chaincamera.com/thisfilmisnotyetrated/

Special thanks to Adam for letting me know about this. I don't have much time to look for information so I appreciate any help with contributions.

I still haven't seen any former "Hang Time" castmembers on "24." They'll be needing different actors to fill in for all those who died in the past couple episodes. Who knows? Maybe it was bullshit information, or maybe somebody will be on there? I doubt it will be Megan though.

January 1, 2006.

I've checked some other sites and I do not think that Megan will be the "Hang Time" castmember to be on "24."

Daniella Deautscher was on an episode of "Las Vegas" so she is probably the one.

I don't know what part she's playing, but I can't help but think that Megan would have been better. Oh well, We'll just have to see what happens.

In another note, Jay Hernandez will be in the upcoming movie "Hostel" produced by Quentin Tarantino. This is a graphic horror movie. I may have to check this out. It better be as graphic as they say! I like horror movies, and I'm not easily shocked.

Hopefully Megan's return to acting!

I may be jumping the gun a little here, but I've seen a website where Megan may be on the new season of "24" She may have been In season two of "Las Vegas" But I can't confirm this because I do not watch this show. I'll have to check it out.

I hope this is true because "24" is one of my favorite shows! If Megan is on this I can't wait to see if she's a computer operator, or a terrorist chick. Maybe she can give Chloe a run for her money, although I really liked Chloe after last season, it would be cool to see Megan kick her ass. (It would be cool to see Megan get her ass kicked by Chloe just to see her on TV again, LOL. If this is true maybe Jack will kick her ass, or she will kick his ass! Either way it would be cool for her acting career. It would be cool to see Megan running around with a gun, but we'll just have to see what happens!

Actually it would be cool  just to see Megan on TV again!

Megan recently did the voice for "Reggie Rocket" in the PS2 game Nicktoons Movin'. You need the PS2 Eyetoy to play this game. The character "Reggie Rocket" comes from the cartoon Rocket Power. I checked it out but Megan did not voice the character on television. Shayna Fox voiced the character on the show.

I finally found the time to listen to all four hours of Anne Of Green Gables.  The production was good, as were the voices and music. The story was better than I thought it would be. It's about an orphan with an overactive imagination who comes to live with an elderly brother and sister. At first they wanted a boy but the orphanage sent a girl instead. Of course, being a family story, they decide to keep her and fall in love with her. Anne gets in a lot of trouble but always manages to come out on top. People who don't like her always manage to wind up loving her. Yes, this is a sappy family story; Anne falls off a roof, almost gets drowned, saves a sick child, the elderly brother dies, the sister starts going blind, they lose all their money in a bank failure, and Anne gives up her scholarship to stay and help everybody out.

At first, I cringed when I saw Tara Lipinski, (yes, the skater) was in the production. She wasn't too bad though, although Megan would have been better in her part. My only complaint was that Megan wasn't in it enough. In all four hours Megan was only in about four scenes ranging in one or two lines up to five or six lines of dialogue for her character. In all, Megan was probably only in ten to fifteen minutes of the production, that's the scene lengths, not the amount of time she's actually in the show. Other characters often talked about Megan's character. Once, they got my hopes up. They said Megan's character was rehearsing a song for a school show. I thought I'd finally be able to hear Megan sing. It was either edited out or just something they were talking about. This leads to another critisism of the production. Anne would  always get so exited about something, like a concert. She'd   leave for the show, but they wouldn't have the show, the next scene would be Anne telling how great it was. I wonder if this might have been edited for length with some scenes cut?

As for Megan, what little a part she had, she did a good job. Her character fell out a boat, that part was funny, although short. In another scene she was supposed to jump around some area on one foot. That was funny. In another scene the girls were playing some King Arthur game, (Megan was supposed to be Guinivere) and directed the other girl's parts. This was the biggest scene with her in it. In another scene, Anne and Megan's character talked about whether Anne would win the scholarship. That was about all Megan did in the production.

It was good, funny in parts, sappy in others. Megan should have had a bigger part. If you're a big Megan Parlen fan with an extra $20-25.00 to spend go out and get it. Just remember, her part is small. If you grew up, like I did, with sappy family dramas like The Waltons or Little House On The Prairie you probably will be able to put up with Anne Of Green Gables.

I've purchased the Radio Theatre production of Anne Of Green Gables. I haven't listened to it yet, so I don't know how big a part Megan has. It's 240 minutes long, available on either three CD's or cassettes, and can be purchased through Amazon.com (cheapest), through the Radio Theatre website, or possibly at local bookstores. A lot of Christian bookstores are supposed to sell it  and Barnes & Noble. I'll put up a link to the website and write a review when I get a chance to listen to it.

August 19, 2004

Recently Megan was in a Radio Theatre production of Anne Of Green Gables, playing Jane Andrews. Copies of this may soon be for sale. I'll check it out and put up a link when I find out more.

July 7, 2004

Friday July 9th is Megan's birthday, I would like to wish her a very happy birthday on behalf of all her fans. I would also like to tell Megan to keep up the good work with VOANews, your articles are excellent!

June 30, 2004

I have some very important Megan Parlen news to report. Megan is working as a journalist for the Voice Of America. Doing a Google search will lead to her articles, or you can go to the VOANews website to read or listen to her articles. I suggest you listen. I am very impressed with the quality of her writing and if she chooses journalism over acting I am sure she will be a great journalist. I'll put up a link on the links page.

I would like to congratulate Megan on a job well done. I especially liked the article on the Elgin marbles. I've always been interested in Archaeology and I found this highly informative.

In other news, I have found other roles that Megan has done in the past. These are mostly pilots that were not picked up by a network, they were most likely never televised, so I have no information about them. Other roles in which she was uncredited or only appeared as an extra are also included as are a couple of plays. Check out the filmography page for more information.

I have also seen Megan listed as the Lead in a FEATURE FILM called BAPTISM. I can find no information except that it was produced by A.F.I. If anyone has any information about this film, especially if it's available on VHS or DVD please let me know.

Dec. 24, 2003

I have read a few reviews for the video game Gladius on which Megan has done some voice acting. I still don't know how big a part she has or who her character is, but the reviews for voices are good. Game-revolution.com said, "Lucas Arts never seems to skimp on the voice actors, and this is no exception with very well done voices for the story's many characters." Gamespy.com said, "voice acting is a category in which Lucas Arts has always ruled." If You have played this or Tony Hawk's Underground, let me know.

I have also found a web site called, "TVShowsOnDVD.com" where you can vote on which shows you would like to see released on DVD. You can go there and vote for Hang Time to be released on DVD. Check out the links page to go there. It would be nice to see Hang Time on DVD.

Dec. 10, 2003

Megan has done voice acting on two new video games. One game is Tony Hawk's Underground, the latest title in this popular video game series. The second, Gladius, an RPG which also stars the voices of Michael Rosenbaum, from televisions Smallville and Linda Cardellini of Scooby Doo. Both games are for PS2, and XBOX. I've not played either of these so I have no details as to what character she plays or how big a part she has.

If you see Megan in anything new, please let me know, whether it's a movie, TV show, play or whatever let me know, any submissions will be given full credit for contributers.

I would Like to thank TV Tome and IMDB for putting up links to this site. You can check out Megan's pages at these sites by following the links located on the links page. I appreciate the exposure!

Also, check out the link to CED voices for a sample of Megan's voice work. This is extremely funny!

Contributers
Thanks to Adam for letting me know about Megan's new production credit.

Gossip

I saw on a Star Trek site somewhere that when Michelle Forbes quit playing Ro. They were so impressed by Megan's performance that they dabbled with the idea of keeping Ro as a child. They dropped the idea when producers for Deep Space Nine tried to get Forbes to join their cast, by the time that fell through The Next Generation, had ended.

Be sure to let me know what you hear and I'll add it to this page!
