Prayer & Praise & Power

“The ministry of Christianity is the ministry of the Spirit.  It is the Spirit of God that inhabits the words, that speaks to the spirit of another and reveals Christ in and through him.”  (John G Lakes, “Diary of God’s General,” Charismatic Classics, Harrison House, Inc., 1985, pp 77-78.)

"Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths."
King Solomon, Proverbs 3:6

What is faith?  It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.  It is the evidence of things we cannot see.
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose."
Paul, Romans 8:28 NLT

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.

James 5:16

“The name of Jesus has healed this man—and you know how lame he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has caused this healing before your very eyes."

Peter (Acts 3:16) NLT

Grace and peace to you from God our
father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise be to the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion
and the God of all comfort, who
comforts us in all our troubles, so that
we can comfort those in any trouble with
the comfort we ourselves have received
from God.

Apostle Paul, (2 Corinthians 1:2-4)

For no matter how many
promises God has made, they are
"Yes" in Christ.  And so through him the
"Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of
God.  Now it is God who makes both
us and you stand firm in Christ.  He
anointed us, set his seal of ownership
on us, and put his Spirit in our
hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is
to come.

Apostle Paul, (2 Corinthians 1:20-22)

... and by his wounds we are
healed.

Isaiah (53:5)

The Power of Praise and Prayer

"Are any among you suffering? They should keep on praying about it. And those who have reason to be thankful should continually sing praises to the Lord.

Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven."

James 5:13-15 NLT

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Paul, (Philippians 4:6-7NLT)

I am still confident of this;
I will see the goodness of the
 Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
 be strong and take heart...
King David, (Psalm 27:13-14)

I have never heard a sermon based upon this verse.  "I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."  Pastors there is a sermon to be preached in this verse.

"Faith comes by hearing the word of God."  (Rom 10:17)

"If we want to see people delivered from the bondage of disease, we must teach them the part of God's word that sets them free from disease.  The truth is:  Christ wills every person (you) to be healed, or He would not have taken the stripes by which you were healed."

Then you may ask, "Why do not more get healed?"
The answer:  Because of the lack of teaching and preaching the Bible truth of healing.

Let us not stand by the bed of sick people to sympathize with their pains.  Let us never insinuate that it must be God's will to "take them";  or that "it will teach them patience"; or that perhaps, "they will be drawn closer to the Lord" through their sickness.

Let us rather declare war on every form of sickness, and take authority over every form of demon power through the name of Jesus Christ.  Let us minister deliverance to those in need of healing."  (TL Osborn, Healing the Sick, p. 25)

Let us pray with you right now.

In the authority of the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, We come into agreement with you against sickness and illness, against doubt or poverty or whatever it is that is attempting to harm you.   Jesus suffered for our sin and our sickness so that He might destroy the works of the devil and we can walk in victory.  You belong to God! So we say, satan, take your hands off God’s property. We come against all your evil works and command them, in the Name of Jesus, to end.  Be delivered.  Amen.

Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8 (NRSV)

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one who died. Look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

 Rev 1:17-18 NLT

Ask, and it shall be given to you (Matt 7:7)

If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it (John 14:14)

Whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive it, and you shall have it (Mark 11:24)

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

Jesus of Nazareth, Matthew 5:14-16 NIV

Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid.  Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today...The LORD will fight for you, you need only to be still."  Moses, (Exodus 14:13-14 NIV)
