Simple & basic scriptures:

It is good to have some basic scripture memorized.  I would suggest you work on one scripture per week.  Here are 26 scriptures, enough for 6 months, to begin with.  These are scriptures with a message that I enjoy.  If you are a parent, make this a family project.

Scriptures for memorization!

1.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16 KJV

2.  Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.  Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV

3.  So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.  John 13:34-35 NLT

4. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.  John 18:20 KJV

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Psalm 19:1 NIV

but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”  Proverbs 12:18 NIV

11. “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger.”  Proverbs 15:1 NLT

12. “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”  Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV

14.  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Ps 23:1-4 KJV

15. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.  Ps 23:5-6 KVJ
