The New Testament was written in Greek.  In Greek, there are five distinct types of love.  One is 'Eros,' or erotic love.  Second, there is 'Philia' which means the love of a friend for a friend.  Thirdly, there is 'Storge' which basically stands for family love, the love of a parent for a child.  Next there is 'Xenia' which is hospitality.  And finally, there is 'Agape,' which stands for love like God's love for us.  Have 'Agape' Love for your brothers and sisters in Christ!
